Building A Family Business On The Midas Brand
With 16 years of experience in retail management and a degree in economics, Waheed Mian knows a good brand when he sees it.
That’s why he opened his first Midas store in September 2010.
“I chose Midas because it is a solid brand with a 50-year track record, high customer awareness, a progressive philosophy and great potential,” said Mian.

Having been responsible for opening numerous stores while in retail, Mian leveraged that experience while converting on older building to a Midas store and, simultaneously, learned as much as possible about the auto service business.
“It only strengthened my faith in Midas when I experienced all the support available to franchisees: excellent training, district manager support, construction planning assistance and advice regarding equipment purchasing and placement,” he said.
Not only is Mian pleased to be his own boss, he’s excited his shop is a family owned and operated: His wife works with him full time, and his son and brother-in-law both work part time. In fact, he and his brother-in-law recently opened a second Midas shop in Cambridge.
“To see two shops running well is very rewarding,” said Mian.
