Minuteman Press International Celebrates 40 Years of Franchising in Canada
Minuteman Press International has been franchising in Canada for 40 years, with the first Canada-based Minuteman Press franchise opened in summer of 1978 in Missassauga, Ontario. Each Canada Minuteman Press centre is a full-service printing and marketing provider that designs and produces large format posters and signs, custom branded apparel, promotional products for clients. Minuteman Press has a total of 74 franchises operating in Canada supported by local regional teams in Toronto and Vancouver.
Chick-fil-A Announces Plans to Come to Canada
Chick-fil-A is crossing the border. The American fast food franchise, known for its fried chicken, has announced that it plans to bring 15 locations to the Greater Toronto Area in the next five years. Toronto’s large population, multicultural reputation, and close proximity to the U.S. make it an attractive city for American companies looking to get their start in the Canadian market. The franchise will stick to its U.S. policy of closing its locations on Sundays, but other changes may be made to appeal specifically to Canadian customers.
McDonald’s Canada Serving Locally Sourced and Ethical Beef
McDonald’s Canada has officially announced the change in its beef. This change will make the fast food franchise the first company in Canada to serve Canadian beef from certified sustainable farms and ranches, which must adhere to certain environmentally friendly standards such as ensuring animals are in good health and maintaining efficient recycling programs. The change will begin with the hamburger giant’s Angus beef burger line. Most of McDonald’s locally sourced beef will be bought from breeders in Alberta and Saskatchewan
Tim Hortons Tests Food Delivery to Three Canadian Cities
Canada’s iconic coffee franchise has started testing delivery in three cities throughout the country. Through a partnership with Skip The Dishes, Tim Hortons began delivering food from 148 of its restaurants in Vancouver, Ottawa, and Edmonton with hopes of expanding the program in the coming months. The franchise is planning more improvements as well: a kids menu that is unique to the brand and a loyalty program that will eventually be integrated into the company’s app.
Baskin-Robbins Launches Uber Eats Deliveries Across Canada
Tim Hortons isn’t the only franchise to set their sights on delivery. Baskin-Robbins Canada, following a successful pilot program in Ontario, has launched delivery service to more than 20 cities across the country. The ice cream franchise’s ice cream tubs, fresh packs, cakes, and pizzas are available in these cities through the Uber Eats app. This move came at the perfect moment – during National Ice Cream Month, which is celebrated throughout the month of July. Baskin-Robbins and Uber Eats offered special discounts during the month to help encourage customers to take advantage of the delivery service.
