It’s almost time to raise a toast to a New Year! As we say goodbye to 2023 and hello to 2024, are you making New Year’s resolutions?
If so, you’re not alone. Only 14.1% of Canadians don’t make New Year’s resolutions. Most Canadians make one or two resolutions each year. Of those, 68.6% say they don’t succeed in keeping their resolutions.
If starting a franchise is in your New Year's plans, the most common resolutions can be your guide. Here are the top five Canadian New Year’s resolutions and how a franchise can help keep each one.
Resolution #1: Spend More Time With Family
Perhaps nothing is harder on families than time away from each other. That’s especially true when a child is sick and needs the love of their family, there’s a special field trip that your child wants you to attend with them, but work duties hold you back, or you’re at the office an extraordinary number of hours with no extra pay. Everyone suffers.
With 2024 around the corner, many people are resolving to spend more time with their families, and a home-based franchise just might be the ticket to keeping that resolution. When you work from home, you have more flexibility to be with the people you love while also doing what you love. Being able to live the best of both worlds and bring your family into your franchise development can allow you to all come together more organically and more often.
Resolution #2: Get in Shape
January 1 is typically when everyone hits the gym and vows to keep their fitness goals. If you’ve struggled to keep this resolution, you might benefit from starting a fitness franchise that inspires you to work out more often.
Having the gym as your workplace allows you to get motivated and stay motivated along your health journey. In addition, you get to inspire others to do the same while earning a good income. It’s a journey that not only fuels your health but the health of your family, your friends, and many others you’ll meet along the way.
Resolution #3: Eat Better
Another common New Year’s Resolution is to eat better. Many people want to boost their nutritional health by curbing the sweets and treats we were all inundated with during the holiday season. One way to achieve this is by surrounding yourself with good food, which can be done regularly with a food franchise.
Food franchise owners who start health and wellness franchises can encourage themselves and their patrons to eat better by focusing more on nutrition. When you opt to do this as your main role, you’re setting yourself up for success, as well as your customers who share the same resolution up for success.
Resolution #4: Be More Financially Responsible
The sky is the limit regarding how much you can earn as a franchisee. You can grow as big as you’d like with the support of the franchisor’s existing systems and strategies to get you going faster. You can open multiple units, adding to your scalability and growth success.
Because franchise ownership is a less risky way to enter the entrepreneurial world, many become more financially independent and responsible by becoming a franchisee. If that’s you, 2024 could be your year to see this resolution to fruition over the next 365 days and well beyond.
Resolution #5: Travel More
So many people want to see the world, yet so often, we get bogged down by work hours and other time commitments. If you want to travel more in 2024, you might want to consider franchise ownership.
Owning a franchise lets you set your schedule so you can travel in off-peak seasons. It also lets you travel longer because you have a team of employees to help you build your business while you’re away. In addition, you may have travel opportunities through your franchise to see new cities and meet new people in ways you haven’t had.
Ultimately, it comes down to this — Franchise ownership can help fuel various New Year's Resolutions so you can keep to what you resolve and make 2024 your year to succeed.
