Testimonials
I was concerned that my lack of performing arts experience was going to be problematic but it became clear that my role as a franchisee and business owner was much more about structure, dedication and communication. My background in the military was so much more applicable than I ever thought it would be. The training was amazing and the Stagecoach team was so helpful that I couldn’t wait to fly back to Canada and get started. In January 2018, I launched Stagecoach Kitchener.
One of the best things about those first few months as a franchisee was how much guidance I was given by the team back in the UK. They even flew out to support me with recruiting my teaching team and, as someone with no previous experience of the performing arts, that was invaluable. I initially came at most tasks with my marketing hat on but, as time went on, Stagecoach taught me to enjoy the process of owning a business and watching my students thrive. I’ve always loved working in marketing but I do find that Saturday is the best day of my week—I don’t struggle to get out of bed in the morning that’s for sure! It’s wonderful to watch these kids go on such an incredible journey.
Stagecoach is a wonderful opportunity, in terms of career prospects, and for my students too. Sure, building a lovely life for my family is a real blessing and something I’ll never take for granted but, for me, it’s much more about instilling this wonderful sense of confidence in my students. What really matters to me is that they’re having fun and enjoying every second. I’m really proud to be affiliated with such a respected, well-known performing arts brand. And even though it’s a global brand, each franchisee is running a small, local business—the type of business I like to support
I’m busy all of the time, but I do it because I love it. I’ve always had a passion for performing arts and my career lead me down the route of teaching. I decided to start my own Stagecoach franchise as I had spent years working for them as an acting teacher and I love the way Stagecoach nurtures every child individually. We recently bought our first home, something which couldn’t have happened without Stagecoach. We’ve even managed to start saving for our children’s education. “Being able to look after my family is really important but I’m only fully content when I see my students thriving too.
Running my Stagecoach franchise has exceeded my expectations and, as someone who has worked in marketing and high-level management for over 20 years, I had very high expectations! I teach companies how to present themselves to employees and customers day in-day out and I can honestly say that Stagecoach has done an incredible job of building a great culture with their franchisees. They lead from the top down and I’m very proud to be part of the brand. There’s a reason they’re known as the best in the business and I hope to contribute to that reputation as I move forward with my franchise.
Making the decision to become a Stagecoach Franchisee was not an easy one. How do I go about it? Can I afford it? How much work is involved and will I be any good at it? I found that all of these questions were a normal part of the process. As a dance teacher at a Stagecoach I already had a passion for the place. What I didn't realise until I started this journey was just how respected Stagecoach is around the country. As well as my love of Stagecoach another reason for wanting to become a franchisee was so that I could have a good balance with work and spending time with my young twin boys. Stagecoach allows you to work term time. When it comes to paperwork, this can all be done on a computer in the comfort of my own home. Once I'd decided to go ahead the support was amazing. Head Office seem to have a designated person, on call for whatever questions you may need answering. The marketing, online software and merchandise are all up to date, easy to use and very eye catching. The transfer of business was quick and easy and went without a hitch. Yes Stagecoach is a business, a very good business, I can see myself running this until I retire, but I feel that everybody within the company have the same vision. "It's all about the students" this is very important to me, I like this approach. Becoming a Stagecoach Franchisee has 100% changed my life. One day is never the same as the last, the opportunities offered by the company are varied and challenging and making a difference to a student's life is a feeling I will never tire of.
Being a Stagecoach Franchisee gives me the flexibility of running my own business - but with a brilliant support structure and Network behind me. Having a young family, it's important to me to be able to work flexible hours during the week and being my own boss means that this is possible. The Edinburgh franchise is the third one I have owned in the network and I've always been keen to be part of the Stagecoach brand. The experience, values and commitment of the team is second to none and I value the support and expertise of my colleagues.
The wonderful thing about being a Stagecoach franchisee is watching children who couldn't even say yes in the register becoming confident performers in just a few terms. It is lovely to have the support of fellow franchisees to call upon. And I believe we are the best in the business.
I have run Stagecoach Stafford and Stone for 17 years, unbelievably. I have experienced many changes in that time personally and professionally but the one constant has been my school. The energy, enthusiasm and creativity of the students makes Saturday mornings genuinely fulfilling. A complete gear change from the rest of my week and something I am really proud of.
I would highly recommend a stagecoach franchise as a business. Having also set up and ran a business on my own, having the support of a Head Office and a great brand already established for you makes life so much easier and takes so much stress away. The financials of a stagecoach school are fantastic and there is no real limit to how much you can earn with all the extras like workshops, parties, West End troupes. We have an amazing work life balance running 5 Main Stages schools, 7 Early Stages and a Further Stages we also manage to look after three busy children under 12! We could not do this without our Stagecoach business. Head office are fantastic, very supportive, pro active and professional. Would recommend a franchise over going it alone any day!
